The Catch Grill is well decorated and fits the style of its surroundings very nicely. It is however a bit cramped inside the restaurant. Service was friendly and attentive, but nothing extraordinary. Same goes for the food. We shared a bunch of starters among the group. The mussels were excellent. Great sauce on the buttery side. The tuna-tartar was really good as well, although it could have used a bit of spiciness(wasabi or horseradish preferably ). Mezze and chicken wings were alright too, but lacked a bit in flavour. My main course was fish & chips. The fish was excellent, chips would benefit from a small seasoning (maybe rosemary). Sauces were a bit underwhelming. My desert was a stick toffee pudding. I got what I expected. Overall I enjoyed the stay a lot, but for 5 stars it did not deliver enough excellence for the pricing.
Me and my fiancé decided to give this place a try after walking past it many times… We had the fish and chips and we both throughly enjoyed it! The added katsu curry really added to the dish, our only issue was how cramped the place was, we were sat very close to other couples so it did feel a bit awkward and unfortunately made us not want to stay for more drinks or desert. Also the single table and chairs are quite uncomfortable to sit on, they dig into your back a bit. However other than that we would definitely return but when it’s less busy! :)
Lovely place for dinner. It's 3rd time visited this restaurant. We enjoyed oyster. And cornish icecream was really good.
Wow what a find! Cornwall in Winter gives you the best food, the best table and no traffic! I’ll let the food pics speak for themselves! Utterly delicious!
